After a very brief shower this morning, the clouds cleared away. South and East Texas are forecast to have severe weather including hail and tornados. None of that will occur here. Below is today’s H-alpha solar image.

And below is the broadband sunspot image.

I decided to show a small area of the sun in both H-alpha and broadband to demonstrate that the sunspots are also seen in the H-alpha image albeit far more subdued. The area in question is labelled AR3927, 3928, and 3933 above.


Today’s eastern limb prominences are arches whereas those along the western limb look more like spiky hair.
