After days of overcast skies and rain, we expect at least three sunny days. Today was the first. Below, today’s H-alpha image shows numerous filaments, limb prominences, and a new set of active regions in the NE quadrant.

In the annotated sunspot image below, all of the active regions that were visible last week before the rains have disappeared. There are new groups, but they are fewer in number than those we had been following.

The gallery below showcases today’s limb prominences. In the third frame, note the jet of sun stuff being ejected high above the solar chromosphere.
