Today’s H-alpha image shows a dramatic arc prominence along the eastern solar limb. Prominence activity along the western limb is barely noticeable.

The corresponding sunspot image still shows eight active regions including some active regions not well seen in previous images and the disappearance of AR4026 to the far side of the sun. In today’s NASA image, there are two new active regions, AR4038 and -39, near the eastern limb that are not well seen in the image below.

Looking carefully just above the letter E in the image below, one can see the faint plasma arc of the prominence that shows so much better in the H-alpha image. My sunspot images rarely reveal the prominences.

A cropped rendering of the sun’s eastern limb appears below. It showcases the aforementioned prominence.
