Austin’s skies have been overcast for a couple of days as well as today; however, the cloud cover today was mainly high cirrus clouds. So, it was possible to see the sun. The H-alpha image shows dramatic loop prominences along the western solar limb, a few bright plages near AR4087 and where AR4089 should be. There are also a few, small filaments near the center of the solar disk.

The sunspot image shows two new sunspot groups, AR4092 and AR4093, that were not visible when I last made a solar imaging blot post. AR4089 is too faint to see in my image, but it does show up as a collection of small dots on today’s NASA SDO image.
