Despite partially cloudy skies, I had a successful solar photoshoot this afternoon. Today’s H-alpha image shows the active regions (sunspots) and their bright plages well. The main prominences are along the SE, WNW, and SW solar limbs. Most are them are arches of sun stuff, there is also a plume of solar material high above the chromosphere on the NW limb.
