Today was mostly cloudy, but there were sufficient clearings between clouds to permit a solar imaging session. Today’s H-alpha image shows prominence activity along the SE, NW, and SW solar limbs. The activity along the SW limb consists of spicules – hairlike structures of sun stuff exploding above the chromosphere.
Prior images have shown these delicate spicule structures, but I have not pointed then by name before.

The sunspot image shows no new active regions. This sunspot cycle is quieting down.
