Today’s H-alpha image shows six active regions as AR4480 has developed near AR4477 in the sun’s southern hemisphere. There is a dramatic prominence along the sun’s E-SE limb, and another, smaller feature along the sun’s W-SW limb.

The prominences appear in the gallery below. In the leftmost image, note the large plume of sun stuff along the sun’s E-SE limb.
