I recall those drills from my childhood elementary school experience. I think that their purpose was to give us a faint hope that we might actually survive a nuclear attack if only we curled up under our desks, covered our necks with our arms, and averted our gaze. I mean, x-rays and gamma radiation don’t actually pass unencumbered through flesh and bone, right? And the school building would stop the blast shockwave, right? Ah, it was all magical thinking at its absolute worst.
Tonight, we finished off the duck that Susan roasted on Monday. I made Mexican elote (street corn) on the grill outside to go with the yummy, reheated duck. Our dinner was Duck ‘n Elote. The elote was covered in grated Cotija cheese.

Looks delicious! Glad you both enjoyed!
