Today’s projects were to install a bidet in the guest bathroom, to repair a Halogen G9 socket in a pendant light fixture, and to fit a new steering wheel cover over the scarred steering wheel of a 2009 Impreza. We bought a bidet attachment for our master bathroom during the pandemic when marauding bands of Karens were picking the store shelves clean of toilet paper. It has worked flawlessly for almost three years, and I expect that it will continue to do so for many years.

The new bidet arrived by Amazon delivery this morning. It looked like this.

You too can have a bidet for under $30

The installation of our other bidet was very easy. So, when I read Easy To Install, my heart was filled with dread. I have learned from bitter years of experience that when manufacturers say that a product is easy to install, they are just messing with you. Of course, they call it advertising rather than messing, but it’s the same thing.

It turns out that this unit is very similar to the one we already have albeit from a different manufacturer. The rub is the toilet, a Delta unit, is very different from our Kohler Cimmaron. Merde! I will have to return it.

The pendant over-the-sink light fixture was fubar; time to shop for a new fixture and call an electrician. Damn!

Well, at least I can report that the steering wheel cover went smoothly. Sigh.
