Yep, it’s that time again; the 1099s are trickling in. Some from Social Security, others from IRAs, and so forth. I prefer to enter them into my tax software as they arrive rather than waiting for all of them to arrive. Then there is the tedium of entering 60+ charitable contributions only to have the tax program tell me that these, together with my exorbitant property taxes are of less tax advantage to me than the standard deduction. Thank you, former, twice impeached, and disgraced President Trump.
I’m probably done with 50% of my tax work this year. I can only hope that the remainder of the tax forms arrives in the next 60 days so that I can be done with this annoyance for another year. I don’t mind paying taxes; I just mind having to buy tax software that forces me to report to the IRS that which they already know. And it chaps my ass that the ultra-rich are able to skate through this burden paying less toward the common good than Susan and I do. Fuck them all.

The one thing I DON’t resent tRump for is raising the standard deduction. Now we don’t have to keep track of all those donations! I like not itemizing.
