I just saw a bit of video from one of the House majority’s Grievance and Vengeance committees. It was MTG complaining about how Twitter had suppressed the voices of medical experts who had reported great success in using Ivermectin in treating patients hospitalized with COVID-19. It was amazing primarily because of its profound ignorance.

The initial reports concerning the efficacy of drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, subjected to critical peer review, have been either retracted or discredited because of methodological errors. Subsequent studies, done rigorously, have shown that neither of these medications has a beneficial effect in patients who have COVID infection. By contrast, there is ample clinical trial evidence that medications such as Remdesivir, Paxlovid, Molnupiravir, Dexamethasone and a few others are efficacious in various COVID clinical situations.

Despite the clinical studies that demonstrate and replicate these findings, some clinically ignorant politicians continue to whine that the voices of charlatans are being silenced in the face of a global pandemic. Give me a focking break, Marjorie. We want the public to turn to effective medications and competent medical professionals! It would all be comical were it not for the >1 million American dead due to COVID and millions more folks worldwide.

Then we have oligarch, celebrity clowns like Elon Musk, a self-professed free speech absolutist, who has banned BBC journalists and others with whose reporting/posting he does not agree. So much for free speech, as it were.

I’m not advocating violence against these powerful but profoundly ignorant people and their malignant agendas, but if I read tomorrow that they had contracted an incurable and rapidly fatal disease, I would not shed a single tear. I would simply look forward to reading their obituaries – on Twitter, perhaps.
