We all have them or at least had them when we were younger – goals, desires, and dreams. I think that aspirations serve a useful purpose – as waypoints on our life’s journey, as it were. At this point in my life, my aspirations are simple. I want to live comfortably, to enjoy each day as much as possible, to watch my grandchildren grow up, and to not regret anything else that I do with my life. I have enough of those already.
A few days ago, I came upon a Face Book post that asked about the first thing you would buy after winning a $100 million lottery. I couldn’t resist reading through some of the comments. They were surprisingly repetitious. There was a contingent that would buy that big house that they had always wanted. Then there were those who would run out and buy a yacht that would be the envy of all who wanted but could not afford a yacht. Still, others aspired to have fantasy vacations.
I didn’t see any who wanted to pay for their further education or that of their children – at least not as their first purchase. But, in fairness, there were thousands of responses, and I read a few dozen at most. After a bit, I took the bait and responded, “I think I would go for an ice cream cone.”
A few days later, another responder commented that my response was most pleasing.
My aspirations are very similar to yours – essentially non-aspirations, tho if I did win the lottery (which I don’t enter), I’d try to address the racial inequities in GISD.

I’ll decide when I get the $100 million.😛
I have always loved ice cream. 🍦
❤️
Me too. I don’t have it often, I consider it a celebratory treat.
