Okay, Last Dinner, then. The grandkids and their parents left today to return to their comfy and familiar home and cat in Omaha. We leave tomorrow morning for exactly the same purpose albeit to our two cats.
We have spent most of the day doing the required hygiene regimen of cleaning, washing bedclothes and towels, and so on. We want to be good guests. This evening, I prepared the last dinner of the vacation – ham sandwiches and a salad of mixed veggies with Bleu Cheese dressing. It was simple yet satisfying.
It has been drizzling here most of the day – especially this afternoon and evening. I am going to make one last fire in the fireplace.
The fires have been for ambience; it hasn’t gone below 52F the whole time we have been here. Sti ll, the point of vacation is to restore the soul, and a nice fire helps to achieve that restoration. 🙂
