Here is Dr. Klotman’s weekly video update. Not much is going on as regards COVID; that’s a good thing. The highlights this week include:

- Detection of West Nile virus in mosquitoes in the Dallas area
- Persistent wastewater H5N1 bird flu markers in wastewater
- A nice discussion of the two COVID origin theories – zoonosis versus lab leak
Dr. Klotman also mentions Juneteenth and its significance. I recently heard a scholar of black studies who criticized Juneteenth as a bogus victory for blacks. Why? Because blacks asked the government for land so that they could become truly free, but they got nothing from the US government. White men got land. So, the Emancipation Proclamation simply gave former slaves a new kind of slavery – the poverty of sharecroppers. Sigh, America keeps trying to address its original sin, slavery, and just can’t handle making a sincere confession and accepting penance. Our professed faith is a sham.
