She concluded that there was no place like home. She’d been gone to the land of Oz on what we might call an unwanted vacation. She had adventures there, and more than one scare. In the end, it was the return to the safe and familiar that she most appreciated.

We drove from Amarillo, our Oz, to Austin today. We arrived just after 7PM. We stopped at the Central Market which was on our way home. I picked up some corn, a juicy, boneless ribeye, and some Shiitake mushrooms.

The cats greeted us with enthusiasm. We petted them, and Susan fed them. I made one of the simple rustic meals that I often prepare for the two of us these days. It looked like this.

There really is no place like home.

  1. So glad you two are safe at home. It did sound like you had a great vacation! We have started our summer here too (finally!) and enjoyed shush kabob with Ann array of grilled vegetables last night. Love a simple summer meal❤️

    1. Thank you, Sharon. We had a good time, but we are happy to be back in our own home, own bed, with our own cats. 🙂
