This is my last set of solar images for the month of September. Today, there are eight sunspot groups (aka Active Regions) visible on the solar disk. There is also prominence activity around much of the solar rim. The comparison views of both appear below.

The image on the left shows numerous filaments (dark wavy lines) that are prominences viewed from above. The rim prominences are emphasized in the image below.

Note that several of the prominences have jets extending into the chromosphere and beyond.

The eight sunspot groups are highlighted below. Furthest north are AR3841 (upper left quarter) and AR3840 (upper right quarter). The other six groups east to west (left to right) are: AR3842, AR3839, AR3843, AR3836, AR3835, and AR3834. The last two are visible but faint in this image.
