Today’s comparison images of the solar disk show a large arch prominence on the eastern solar limb, and a fresh crop of sunspots on the eastern side of the disk.

The largest sunspot groups are featured in the following annotated image. A large coronal mass ejection (ejected sun stuff) headed toward earth from AR3869 will probably make for showy auroral displays in the northern latitudes.
