We had an hour of rain and thunder this morning, and then the clouds cleared leaving a pristine sky for imaging. Below is today’s sunspot image showing two new albeit small Active Regions – 3940 and 3941 on the eastern side of the disk. AR3929 on the far western limb of the disk is about to disappear behind the sun’s far side.

Below is the H-alpha image showing a few prominences along the western limb and bright plages and dark filaments (prominences) around the active regions identified above.

Today’s cameo features the western limb prominences and the plage around AR3929 near the sun’s limb.
