Despite a mostly cloudy sky, I managed to get a few minutes of solar video for today’s solar photoshoot. The H-alpha image continues to show intense activity around active region AR3981 that has recently had intense flares.

Today’s sunspot image shows increasing complexity in AR3981 as well as a new sunspot region AR3986.

The notable prominences along the eastern, southeastern, and western solar limbs appear in the gallery below.
