Today’s H-alpha image shows continued prominence activity across the western limb with a large mass of solar plasma high above the west-northwestern solar limb.

The sunspot image below shows only two active regions. The NASA image shows two additional regions that are too faint to see in this image. It seems like we’ve reached the solar maximum in sunspot activity.

The minor prominences along the NE, SE and SW solar limbs appear in the gallery below.



Below, the explosive arch of solar plasma that we saw yesterday has enlarged and continues to glow brightly against the darkness of space.
