Today’s H-alpha image shows solar prominence activity primarily along the sun’s eastern limb.

The annotated sunspot image shows a new active region, AR4060, that has emerged from the sun’s eastern limb. AR4057 which was never apparent in my images has now disappeared from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) image as well. AR4058 is also fading in prominence.

Today’s solar prominence cameo appears below. It shows a variety of arcs and jets of sun stuff high above the chromosphere.
