Today’s H-alpha image shows loop prominences along the eastern solar limb and some tall plume prominences along the southwestern limb with a few, low loop prominences along the west and northwest limbs.

Today’s annotated sunspot image shows the three active regions that appear on today’s NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) image.

Below is a cropped cameo of sunspot group AR4079 – probably the largest and most complex group that I have seen/recorded since I began making solar images.
