Nico, Lydia and the kids went to play miniature golf this morning. Susan and I stayed home nursing our coffees. Around noon, we all met up for lunch at the Wapiti Pub. Some adults had elk meat sandwiches; the grands had items from the kid’s menu. By the way, Wapiti is the Shawnee and Cree (the Native American tribe not the Marvel Universe civilization of assholes) word for Elk. After lunch, we explored a little shop nearby; it was named the Waterwheel after the Fall River feature just outside its shop door. Lydia took the girls shopping for sunglasses.

We crossed the street to visit a Celtic shop. Outside, I looked back at the Wapiti and surrounding shops. There was a Louis DeJoy memorial just outside the shop; they are hard to find in Austin.

There is a lot of infrastructure repair going on downtown; it looks like work on the water distribution system. Consequently, the main street, Elkhorn, is a bit of a mess. Thankfully, the detours and traffic patterns have been designed with efficiency in mind.

Susan and I came home leaving the kids and grands to wander among the shops of this artsy tourist town. When they got home, Lydia found a box of dominoes on a shelf in the den, and we sat down to play a hand. The box of dominoes actually had two sets of tiles, and that made the game more interesting. Did I win? Of course, I won. My opponents had never played before! The next time we play, they will probably clean my clock.

Before dinner, Susan, the grands and their parents went for an evening round of minigolf. Lydia took these pictures of Susan and Elise on one of the greens.

Celeste has her own unique approach to the game. She tees off, picks up the ball wherever it lands, positions it just outside the hole, and then taps it in. This is known as the Donald Trump competition golfing style.

Susan was going to cook dinner tonight, a frozen pizza and a side salad, but Nico moved in and made it instead. If you live long enough, your kids will make you a frozen pizza. 🙂
Love these photos! Weather looks great!
Enjoy every moment. And tell Susan that Nina graduates high school on June 10th. How can that be????!!!!!!
